Science updates

Students will be learning measurement this week in science. They will have a quiz Friday. Study guide will go home Thursday.
Students should be able to:
Identify customary units of measurement (inches, feet, yards, miles)
12 in = 1 foot
3 feet = 1 yard
1 yard = 36 inches
5,280 feet = 1 mile
Measure items to the nearest inch and half-inch
Change linear units (example: 3 feet = 36 inches)
Understand capacity (cups, pints, quarts, gallon) and make conversions
2 cups = 1 pint
2 pints = 1 quart
4 quarts = 1 gallon
Understand weight (ounces, pounds, tons), and make conversions
1 pound (lb) = 16 ounces
1 ton (T) = 2000 lbs
