Updates

This week is a four day week for students.  We are learning to add and subtract fractions with the same denominator.  We will take a short quiz on this Wednesday morning.  They will need to know how to add and subtract fractions with like denominators, and to apply it in word problems.  In reading we are performing our fractured fairy tale plays.  They have been working really hard, so I am excited to see them! We are also filming our iMovies this week.  So far, three students have filmed.  I can't wait to send you the link to our summer book recommendations!  We are also publishing our fictional narratives this week as well.  I am looking forward to reading their stories! This is the last week for writer's notebooks.  All students will turn them in on Friday! We have a field trip to the Lewis and Clark boathouse and to the first state Capitol.  We plan to leave Sappington at 9:00 a.m. and return by 1:30 at the latest.  Students should bring a sack lunch with them.  We are hoping for good weather so we can eat outside up there.  If not, we will bring our lunches back to Sappington and eat in the classroom.  If you have signed up to join us there is a $6.00 fee for the tours.  I will send more information with your child this week.  Thanks again if you have decided to chaperone.  It is always helpful to have parent support.  Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
